探訪農戶

2012年初，得到甘肅農科院和靖遠工商聯的協助，黃土地基金在甘肅省靖遠縣小蘆村一戶農家試種新的高價值農作物 – 蔬菜種子。本來進度良好，可惜到七月時卻遭到六十年一遇的水災，把大部分的蔬菜沖毀了。九月，我們到靖遠探望農戶吳先生，承諾把他未被毀掉的100 公斤種子買下來，並請他來年繼續替我們種實驗田。吳先生夫婦十分熱情，還拿出自家種的西瓜和當地特色的月餅來款待我們。
In early 2012, YEF tried out a new, high-value crop – vegetable seeds – with a peasant family in Xiaolu Village of Jingyuan County, Gansu Province. The trial project has the assistance of the Gansu Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Jingyuan County Federation of Industry and Commerce. Good progress has been achieved but, unfortunately, the worst flooding in 60 years occurred in July and damaged most of the crops. When we visited the family in September, we undertook to purchase from Mr. Wu the remaining 100 kg of seeds and invited him to continue to work on the experimental fields. Mr. and Mrs. Wu were very hospitable and treated us to some water melons which they grew and some local moon cakes.
