New Project- Setting up a Ranch
On 14 September 2017, Mr. Roger Wong, Chairman of YEF, signed a cooperation agreement with the Vice-President of Sichuan Agricultural University, Mr Yang Wenyu, to grow grass on deserted farmland with a view to setting up a ranch to breed goats.
Financial assistance would be offered to a poor household to set up and maintain the ranch. This demonstration project would show other farmers a sustainable and less labour-intensive means of animal husbandry. Assistance includes the supply of grass seeds and high quality black goats, and technical guidance by scientific researchers from Sichuan Agricultural University.
