Visit to Gansu in July 2015- 4
4. Inspecting New Projects
In July 2015, YEF and experts from Gansu Academy of Agricultural Sciences reviewed various agricultural projects, explored new areas for co-operation and visited agricultural enterprises set up under the land circulation policy. We also inspected several projects seeking financial assistance. In addition to more water pipe projects, these included requests from Weiyuan County to rebuild farm sheds and greenhouses and replacing worn out desks and chairs in schools.
We will continue to fund the education of peasants’ children and focus on agricultural and water supply projects.
Works to direct water supply to villagers have greatly improved the livelihood of farmers in mountainous regions, but they require huge funds (each project costs between $300,000 and $500,000). We are very much looking forward to support from philanthropists in order to continue these works.
