Day out in Lanzhou
In September 2011, YEF handed out scholarships to students of the Dingxi Number One Secondary School and the Longxi Number One Secondary School. We also took 100 students from the Longxi Secondary School for a day tour of Lanzhou, the provincial capital of Gansu. These students have never left the mountainous Longxi where they were brought up, never seen a river before and never tried western fast food. Our itinerary included a visit to Lanzhou University, the pedestrian precinct, lunch at KFC, stroll along Yellow River and the Zhong Shan Bridge, and finished with a visit to the Gansu Museum.
