Completion of Water Pipe project at Manwa Village, Manwa Township of Lintao County
With the support of philanthropists from various quarters, YEF had put together donations to fund water diversion works at Manwa Village of Manwa Township. A completion ceremony was held on 15 April 2017 and we visited some of the beneficiary peasant families.
Manwa Village is situated in the dry mountainous region northeast of Lintao County, being a resettlement village. All the villagers belong to the first and second categories of absolute poverty families and families with special hardship. They have been moved to this resettlement point to facilitate support for them. The water pipe project enables all the 189 families to have access to tap water. With water, some families can grow vegetables in their yards while some others build flushing toilets, greatly improving the hygienic condition.
