Gathering with High School students
YEF visited Longxi on 3 July to hold a farewell lunch for 100 students of Longxi No. 1 Secondary School. These students were graduating from senior secondary schooling, having received financial aid from YEF for three years. Their overall results in the University Entrance Examination were excellent, with 91 standing good chances of entering a university, including 60 eligible to apply to leading universities. Their final results would be known in August. The purpose of the gathering was to enable the students to acquire some experience of life outside school. We have prepared three videos for the occasion. Two of them introduce some Hong Kong scenery and the work of YEF, and the third one was a record of their visit to Lanzhou organized by us in 2011. We also played games with them to let them show their creativity and spirit of co-operation. At the end of the gathering, they put their thoughts on colourful greeting cards for us to forward to their sponsors in Hong Kong.
