In 2018, I walked out of the Loess Plateau and went to university in Beijing. I am very proud and honoured to be able to go to school in the capital. I am also fortunate to be able to celebrate the birthday of our Motherland in Beijing. Last year, I even participated in the civilian procession of the National Day military parade!
Watching the flag-raising ceremony in Tiananmen Square gives me a sense of sanctity. Although the process is very harsh, it is a kind of stunning feeling when watching the guard of honour walking towards the flag-raising platform in sacred pace and the national flag rising slowly in the chorus of tens of thousands of people. I also feel proud – proud to be a child of China! I sincerely wish our Motherland prosperity and flourish!

Night, time to rest, but, also best time to strive!
I am now in Year 3 of university and have not returned to the freshman campus for a long time. The feeling is really deep ~
The rural child who once was shy, introvert and lacking confidence has finally become more mature, constantly striving for a better self!

This is a place I have never set foot in. The vast campus, beautiful greenery and intense learning atmosphere have brought me too many surprises. All this makes me look forward to the real university life. A new journey, blooming hopes, and to be my best self. I believe there are unlimited possibilities here!

When I first arrived in Weihai, I was amazed by the gentleness of the city. This city is very warm and, despite being in autumn, the temperature is still comfortable. It is even more heartwarming to see every Weihai citizen so courteous: drivers always give way to pedestrians, and the people I meet in every shop wear smiles. To a child from a backward rural area on the Loess Plateau such as me, all these are so novel and beautiful.
Let’s talk about the campus. The school is very thoughtful. Although parents cannot accompany us into the school because of the epidemic, the school has arranged for senior students to help us carry our luggage and to take us to the dormitory. They also help us adapt to the new environment. The learning atmosphere at school is intense, the teachers are knowledgeable and are humorous at lectures, which I like very much.
I hope to keep this passion, be hopeful of life, and study diligently in this prestigious, century-old Shandong University!

I did not go home during the National Day holiday, and went to Water Street with my sister. Water Street is a wetland park in Zhouzhi, Shaanxi Province. It makes people feel like being in an ancient town. Whether it is the unique homestays on both sides of the street, or the specialties of Shahe and Zhouzhi, it is very attractive to visitors.
This is the popular bridge in Water Street for visitors to take photographs for posting on the Internet. It sways when people walk on it. There are several such bridges here. I am very scared and nervous when walking on it. But as I have come to the bridge, so must I cross it. Once is enough😅

This is autumn in Guyuan, Ningxia. The traces of summer are slowly fading away. The cold autumn wafts are filling the air, and green leaves have turned yellow. They are like colourful butterflies, slowly drifting from the sky.

On September 16, I embarked on a long journey to report to Xi’an Shiyou University to start my university career. The warm introduction by the mentors, the mutual help of classmates, the neat and clean dormitory, the steam-hot dumplings, and the round mooncakes to mark the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day to celebrate a night of reunion … All these make us – children who have just left home – feel the warmth of being home.
Home is where warmth is. Please do your best to give love to warm and illuminate others.

In autumn, there are not only yellow leaves but also snow-white mountains and rivers, and endless meadows dotted with yaks like stars in the sky. Perhaps snow is a symbol of winter but in this moment of late autumn, the blend of winter and autumn, green and white, is reflected in the foot of the Qilian Mountain in the Hexi Corridor. The rich, green pastures are particularly striking after rinsing in the autumn rains. The snow-capped mountains deliver a strong chill, as if travelling between autumn and winter. The gusts of cold wind blow up traces of yellow haze in the air, outlining scenes of battlefields in the poem verse “If only the flying generals in Longcheng were here, the Hu horses would definitely not have made their way across Yinshan.” As descendants of Yandi and Huangdi, we must not only learn to appreciate the beauty of these scenes, but also remember history, overcome difficulties and march forward. I hope everyone will shine in tough times.
