Yongxin Village Jingyuan Country

永新鄉位於靖遠縣北部，「引黃工程」即將開展，動用撥款4.2億人民幣。此村現在還採用「沙田」來保水，從黃河岸邊搬來砂石，覆蓋田面，是自明朝開始採用的方法，比用地膜環保，可是只適合在河流附近採用，而且勞力需求大。
Yong Xin Village is in the northern⋯⋯ part of Jingyuan County. The water supplies project costing 420 Million RMB which will bring water from the Yellow River to the village is due to commence soon. The village still uses the ‘sand field’ method to retain water in their farmland, which involves carrying pebbles from the river banks to cover the fields. This is a method which has been in use since the Ming Dynasty. It is more environmentally friendly than using plastic sheets, but is only suitable in locations not too far from the river, and is extremely labour intensive.
